Tata Motors | Has given enthusiasts an early glimpse into the refreshed interior and feature upgrades of the 2025 Altroz facelift, ahead of its official unveiling slated for May 9. The price announcement is scheduled for May 22, with deliveries expected to follow soon after. Positioned to compete with rivals like the Hyundai i20, Maruti Baleno, and Toyota Glanza, the new Altroz facelift aims to reclaim its edge in the premium hatchback segment with a host of contemporary updates.
Revamped Cabin with New Tech and Premium Touches
The biggest highlights of the upcoming Altroz are centered around its interior. The cabin now features a redesigned dashboard layout coupled with an upgraded fully digital instrument cluster that offers Google Maps integration—a rare feature in this segment. Tata Motors has also introduced a new two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo, adding a modern flair. To further enhance the premium feel, the hatchback gets reworked seats with plush upholstery, reflecting a more upmarket appeal.
The infotainment system sees a significant upgrade too. The Altroz now sports a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen unit, similar to the ones recently seen in the Tata Nexon, Curvv, and Punch. A 360-degree camera setup and a single-pane sunroof with voice control functionality are other key additions that position the Altroz strongly in its category.
Exterior Styling Receives a Fresh Makeover
Tata Motors has not overlooked the exterior design either. The facelifted Altroz comes with newly styled LED headlamps paired with refreshed daytime running lights (DRLs). The front grille has been refined, while the reshaped front bumper incorporates sleek LED fog lamps. A notable addition is the flush-fitting door handles and sportier alloy wheels that amplify the hatchback’s modern stance. At the rear, a redesigned LED tail-lamp cluster now integrates a connecting slim LED light bar, adding to its visual appeal.
No Mechanical Changes Expected
While the exterior and interior see substantial upgrades, the Altroz is expected to retain its existing engine line-up. It will continue to offer the familiar 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol, 1.5L diesel, and 1.2L turbo-petrol engine options, with the current transmission choices carried over as well.
A Timely Update to Boost Sales Momentum
This facelift marks the first significant update for the Altroz since its launch in January 2020. With recent monthly sales slipping to around 2,000 units—down from the 5,000-unit highs in FY21—Tata Motors is banking on this refreshed version to regain traction in the competitive hatchback market.
